For our client, a well-established pharmaceutical company developing a portfolio of Rx and OTC medicines, we are looking for an experienced Head of Medical to manage the organisation's medical strategy and supervise the Medical Affairs team.
Location: Warsaw
Responsibilities:
- Developing and implementing a medical strategy for the Rx and OTC drug portfolio in line with the company's business objectives.
- Providing substantive oversight of all medical activities, including the development of promotional materials, scientific communication and training.
- Cooperating with the registration, marketing and sales departments, as well as external medical experts.
- Building and maintaining relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and the scientific community.
- Managing the Medical Advisors and Medical Science Liaisons team, developing the team's competencies.
- Monitoring scientific publications, regulatory changes and therapeutic trends.
- Ensuring compliance with the EFPIA code and the company's internal regulations.
- Building awareness of the need for compliance with labour law among company employees in their relations with medical professionals and third parties (healthcare organisations, patient associations and societies, external public benefit organisations, external economic entities acting on behalf of and on the instructions of the company).
Candidate profile:
- Higher medical education.
- Minimum 8–10 years of experience in Medical Affairs in the pharmaceutical industry, including team management experience.
- Knowledge of compliance rules and legal regulations concerning medical communication.
- Experience in cooperating with commercial departments in developing product launch strategies.
- Very good knowledge of English.
- Ability to translate scientific data into business language and organisational strategy.
