Indirect Tax Expert Europe

Responsibilities:

  • Lead indirect tax readiness for newly acquired businesses
  • Support daily operations in terms of VAT compliance process for EMEA region
  • Lead VAT mapping processes and identify areas for improvement
  • Maintenance of tax codes
  • Support for tax engine maintenance
  • Preparation and extraction of VAT related analysis and reports
  • Provide internal support for VAT queries from other departments
  • Actively participate in internal and external audits
  • Stay up to date on any changes in VAT legislation and inform the business accordingly
  • Participation in Indirect Tax related projects
  • Support VAT determination for purchase invoices (VAT coding)
  • Supporting VAT coding automation process
  • Performing internal controls related to VAT process
  • Lead VAT registrations across various jurisdictions – as needed
  • Ensure the company / GBS Operation is compliant with VAT regulations
  • Ensure Tax related knowledge management inside and outside GBS
  • Perform compliance quality VAT checks

Requirements:

  • Experience in GBS/SSC/BPO area
  • 3-5 years of experience in indirect tax area in Europe with accountability for results of other team members
  • Deep understanding of VAT, incl. process understanding and technology used in the area of responsibility
  • SAP experience is a must; other ERP systems is a plus
  • Knowledge of/ expertise in internal controls, SOX, controlling, project management, administrative organization
  • Experience with process standardization and optimization, digitalization, Lean, Analytic is a plus
  • Fluent English is a must, other European language is a plus
