For our Client, an international and fast-growing organisation operating in the energy sector, we are seeking Candidates for the position of:
Trader (Power Trading)
Warsaw / Hybrid
Responsibilities:
• Executing transactions on the OTC market – initiating cooperation, contracting, managing execution, and registering trades in internal systems.
• Preparing offers and executing transactions on Polish and international exchanges / trading platforms / regulated markets.
• Managing trading risk – operating within assigned credit and transaction limits and ensuring full compliance with internal procedures.
• Managing hedging positions – agreeing parameters, verifying data, closing positions on the wholesale market, and entering data into internal registers.
• Fulfilling statutory obligations related to financial instruments traded by the company.
• Post-trade activities – preparing transaction summaries, initiating invoicing processes, and confirming purchases.
• Analysing market data required for wholesale trading – gathering data, preparing reports, and developing analytical inputs supporting trading decisions.
Requirements:
Education
• University degree – preferred fields: economics, finance, mathematics, energy.
Experience
• Minimum 3 years of experience in sales or wholesale trading; preferred: experience in energy trading or commodities trading, ideally in a similar role.
Market knowledge
• Very good understanding of:
– energy market mechanisms
– trading instruments (e.g., forwards, OTC contracts)
– industry regulations and legal frameworks (e.g., EFET)
Technical & practical knowledge
• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with analytical tools.
• Knowledge of:
– sales and negotiation techniques, client relationship management, risk management
– financial and commodity markets
– economic and regulatory principles
– transaction and registration systems (e.g., TT), wholesale trading systems, exchange trading rules and procedures
Languages
• English – minimum B2 (daily use, international tools and stakeholders).
Certificates & licences
• Category B driving licence.
Soft skills
• Strong goal orientation, resilience under pressure, agility in decision-making.
